RALGA Secretary General conducts courtesy visits to members
Starting on January 21, 2026, the Secretary General of the Rwanda Association of Local Government Authorities (RALGA), Mr. Valens Uwineza, began a series of courtesy visits to member districts aimed at strengthening engagement between the RALGA Secretariat and its members.
These visits mark Mr. Uwineza’s first official outreach to members since his appointment as RALGA Secretary General on October 16, 2025.
The initiative seeks to enhance RALGA's responsive service delivery and support to the Association by providing members with current updates of RALGA priorities as per the strategic plan 2025–2030 and expected members' support and collaboration, as well as gathering members' feedback on RALGA services , and Stock take members priorities for further RALGA consideration for advocacy and capacity building.
Across different districts in Southern, Eastern and Western Provinces, SG Uwineza held meetings with the Executive Committee members of Districts together with District Executive Secretaries.
By the end of February 2026, Mr. Uwineza had visited Kamonyi, Rusizi, Nyamasheke, Karongi, Rutsiro, Bugesera, Muhanga, Ruhango, Huye, Gisagara, Nyaruguru and Nyamagabe Districts as part of this outreach initiative.
Through these visits, RALGA continues to strengthen its partnership with member districts while ensuring that its programs and services remain responsive to the needs and priorities of local government entities across Rwanda.
